  Description

Kuruma shrimp are a hardy adaptable variety of shrimp. Kuruma, due to their hardiness were among the first shrimp species to be cultured. They are also referred to as prawns because of their large size. Kurumas are chiefly consumed by the Japanese who use them in, among other things, a dish called dancing shrimp, in which the shrimp are served still live on a pile of rice on which they appear to be dancing.
