  Description

Sockeye salmon is also known as red, blueback, kokanees and quinault. Although most of the world's supply is harvested of the coast of Alaska, and much of it is distributed through Seattle, very little sockeye is consumed within the United States. Sockeyes vary insize depending upon their origins and their age. The average sockeye is about 2 -4.5 kg (5 - 10 lbs).
