  Description

Silver hake is also known as New England hake, or Atlantic whiting. As with other hake species the name hake and whiting are used interchangably because whitings tend to sell better than hakes. Silver hakes grow in length up to 80 cm (32 in). However, marketable hake are usually 40 cm in length (16 in).
