  Description

Pacific cod is very similar to Atlantic cod. However, they are usually smaller than its atlantic cousin however, and range in weight from 2 to 5 kg (4-11 lbs). The harvesting of Pacific cod increased as the harvest of Atlantic cod decreased. Pacific cod has since replaced much of the seafood niche originally created by the Atlantic cod.

Diet/Health Info

Production has been relatively stable by North American producers. However, production from Asian and Russian waters are decreasing. For the most part current stocks are stable, healthy, and fully utilized.
