Description |
| Bluefish are vicious predators with sharp razor-like teeth. When it comes
to savagery bluefish are said to outdo even sharks. Young bluefish feed
mainly on crustaceans, molusks and small fish. As they grow older the fish
begin to feed on menhaden, mullet, and anchovies. Bluefish range in weight
from 0.5 to 9 kg (1-20 lbs) although most commercially harvested bluefish
range between 2-5.5 kg (4-12 lbs). The population dynamics of the bluefish
are not well understood and are highly unpredictable. |
