RecentlyThe UK hasn't sold much salmon in the American market because it
can't compete with Chile's low prices, says Denise Chadwick, a sales executive

In 1996, UK buyers purchased more than half of all the canned sockeye
salmon exported from the US. England imports 2.5 million cases of sockeye
salmon a year, with peak consumption during Christmas, Lent and the summer,
reports John Janssen of Janssen Associates, sales agents in Bellevue, Wash.
The contagious viral disease, Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA), has now
affected the sixth farm in the west of Scotland, with three more farms suspected
of harboring infections |
