Salmon
RecentlyThe UK hasn't sold much salmon in the American market because it can't compete with Chile's low prices, says Denise Chadwick, a sales executive with Framgord, a seaforrd exporter in Scotland.

In 1996, UK buyers purchased more than half of all the canned sockeye salmon exported from the US. England imports 2.5 million cases of sockeye salmon a year, with peak consumption during Christmas, Lent and the summer, reports John Janssen of Janssen Associates, sales agents in Bellevue, Wash.

The contagious viral disease, Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA), has now affected the sixth farm in the west of Scotland, with three more farms suspected of harboring infections
