	Years of rampant overfishing on the barrier reef off of Roatan has pushed the fishing grounds far offshore. However, Honduras's, lucrative lobster industry, centered on Roatan, is in better shape than it has been for several years.

Lobster U.S. imports of lobster from Honduras hit 1,228 tons in 1995, up from 996 tons in 1993 but still nowhere near 1991's total of 2,231 tons.
