Skiing & Winter - Choose from numerous ski areas - 5 within less than an hour, others a little further.  Snowmobiling and other activities too.

Summer Activities - some of the areas summer activities will involve New Mexico's Eagle Nest State Park our newest and 32nd state park. Golf - You'll be amazed - choose from 5 golf courses within less than an hour, others nearby. One of the highest elevation PGA courses in the country is just up the hill from Taos! Imagine the length of your drives at 8,000 ft. elev.!

Museums - History, cultural, arts, and more - take your pick of 7 within walking distance, 3 in the valley, 3 more must see sites, and 4 within an hour and a half drive. Special tickets for multiple museums available.

Take a peak. Might just keep you in Taos and the area a day or two more! We can keep you busy and having fun for more days than you'll get off from that four lettered word - work!

Hiking - from mild to wild - hike into the Rio Grande gorge in the Wild & Scenic Rivers area or choose to challenge yourself and make the trek to Wheeler Peak - 13,160'. Don't forget your camera, the views are spectacular.

Climbing - adventure sports enthusiasts should consider rock climbing the Taos area. A couple of climbing guides are located in Taos for suggestions of locations for your skill level.

Hunting / Fishing - ask at the local sporting goods and guide folks for the what's why's and where's. You can also check with Forest

Sight Seeing - driving, hiking, biking, walking tours. US 64 West offers much to add to your Taos Experience! About 10 miles West of Tres Piedras, you'll find Hopewell Lake, a state park at almost 10,000 feet. Stocked with rainbow and natural brook trout, the park also offers camping for the advernturesome. This was an old gold mining area, please be careful while exploring! US Forest Service office in Tres Piedras is 505-758-8678 for more area information. There are almost endless hiking and mountain biking trails in this area. El Chorro at Brazos near Los Ojos is an impressive 1000 foot water fall that emerges every spring when the runoff occurs.

Shopping - 100+ shops in town. Many other regional shops. Sante Fe/Tesuque Flea Market located just North of Santa Fe Opera on Tesuque Pueblo is another popular tourist place to visit.
