Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad
About 60  miles to Antonito, CO (W. on US 64, N. on 285) or 120 miles to Chama, NM (W. on US 64, N. on US 84). Take a ride on the Cumbres, steam powered, 1880's rolling living museum, up and over 10,000 foot Cumbres Pass. Call or wite us for details, runs Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday only. Check them direct for schedule details!
Note - the train is a full day trip, driving to Antonito, bussing to Chama, and riding Eastbound is the best trip!

Classical Gas Museum
Johnnie V. Meier is a collector par excellence of Gas Station memorabilia. Hidden away along the Rio Grande in Embudo just off NM 68 you'll find old gas pumps, signs, oil cans, pump globes, and more. You'll know when you're there, the signs are unmistakable. Call ahead if you want to make certain it's open as Johnnie doesn't have usual hours. Should I even mention Cimmaron's Old Mill Museum, NRA Whitington Center, Raton Museum, Fort Union, Las Vegas City Museum and Roughrider's Memorial?....They are all within less than 2 hours drive time of Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza.
