Wild and Scenic Rivers

The Rio Grande Gorge is 350 feet deep at Dobson House. A few miles north, where the Red River flows into the Rio Grande, it's nearly 900 feet deep. The Bureau of Land Management maintains the trails and picnic areas - you can walk down and sit with a foot in each river!

The hiking and views are spectacular and there is an interpretive center which provides information on the local geology, flora and fauna. Be on the look out for mule deer, hawks, and eagles who inhabit the area. Fish for northern pike and trout here. We'll be glad to pack you a lunch.
