Welcome to New Mexico!  Taos is located about 135 miles North of Albuquerque. If you are driving, from Albuquerque drive North on I 25. At Santa Fe, drive towards Expanola on US 285. In Espanola, look for NM 68 to Taos. You may also take the high road. Some folks even venture the Easterly route through Las Vegas. The drive from Albuquerque takes about 2 and a half hours. Driving from Denver, drive South on I 25. At Walsenberg, West on 160 to Ft. Garland. South to Taos. Or at Raton, West on US 64 to Taos. Driving from the West, you'll either be on US 64 or 160. Check you map carefully as there are numerous poorly marked sections of roadway. Driving from the East, you'll possibly head for Raton, then West on US 64.

For those flying to New Mexico, we strongly suggest Albuquerque as your arrival point. NOTE: Santa Fe airport does NOT have easy to organize or convenient shuttle service to Taos. If you choose to fly to Santa Fe, you will be better off to select a rental car for your Taos transportation. There are three ways of making the trip Albuquerque to Taos.

First, and most popular, rent a car. Do so thru your travel agent or by calling or internet connecting to one of the many car rental services. Your group may have arranged better rates at one of the rent a car sites in Albuquerque. Prices range from $29.95 to $61.95 or higher. Ask for the group, meeting, or Keystone Taos special for those special prices. The International reservation systems do NOT have the some special rates available. If you choose to split the cost, you may try to car pool with another meeting attendee or Keystone conferee.

Second, you may choose to fly - NOTE: Westward Aiorways just began flying in NM.  They offer several flights daily in 9+ passenger planes.  The cost varies with advance purchase time.  Their number is 1-308-220-3838.  Their web site is "www.westwardairways.com ". Seats are limited and fill quickly during large group and Keystone Symposia meetings.

Third, you may choose to ride one of the shuttle services. They operate from Albuquerque starting at about 11 AM and ending about 3PM daily. From Taos, their schedule starts about 7AM and the last one leaves at 11AM. You should plan on arriving at least 1 or 2 hours prior to their last scheduled trip from Albuquerque in order to allow for some flight delay and baggage pickup etc. Returning to Albuquerque from Taos, you should plan to leave about 4 hours or more prior to your flight to provide time for pickups etc. On the first day of each Keystone conference, we plan to have someone from Taos at the airport to meet and greet conferees. Just look for a "Keystone" or "Taos" sign at the bottum of the stairs on the baggage claim level. On day one of the conference, added shuttles may be arranged depending upon advance reservations demand. Usually, a late evening (10 to 11PM) shuttle will be scheduled on the first day. Shuttle cost is $40 plus tax one way - $80.00 plus tax round trip.

Coordination of the Keystone meeting shuttle reservations is being handled by the Comfort Suites of Taos. Phone toll free 888-751-1555. Regular number 505-751-1555. Fax number 505-751-1991. The information booth folks or security folks will direct you. For shuttle reservations during Keystone meetings, please complete the following form and fax to 1-505-751-1991.
